Red Wharf Bay to Amlwch

We're away for three days though we don't reach Red Wharf Bay until lunch time and then we have to walk all the way round to the pub on the shore before stopping for something to eat.  Nice and sunny there with loads of people trying to park.

Then he goes back to the car so we continue towards Moelfre.  Now this may be a coast path but it's far from level.  We were up and down steps and slopes in the woods after Benllech Bay but we kept up the pace and enjoyed the views and smells.  She was so busy looking at plants, I had to keep waiting for her.

Then we saw our destination on the far side of a beach.  Nearly there!  Well not quite.  But when we did reach Moelfre they went to a cafe for tea and cake (nothing for me).
We then drove to Amlwch where they'd booked a hotel for two nights - dog friendly of course.
The next day he joined us for the first part of the walk towards the old lighthouse in Moelfe.  We continued towards Llaneilian while he looked round the museum.  The weather was cool and breezy but sunny with clear skies.  Once again, it was up and down with quite a few streams for a drink and a paddle (or swim) so I kept cool.

Then we came across this sign.  Panic!!!  Luckily there was a diversion along the lanes which were quite pretty but with no views of the sea.

Then there was a gradual climb up a hill and we followed the path inland along one side of an estuary to reach the main road.

The path soon left the road to cross the river where Ian was waiting for us.  They had a long lunch in the car watching birds.  I had a rest before we set off along the beach and left him to climb up lanes passing a church and some interesting buildings before returning to the sea.

For those with good eyesight, there were views of the Gop behind us (strange to look back on our hill) and ahead was the Isle of Man looking like a grey sea serpent.

We met him near the lighthouse and walked back to the car up a steep road climb after 11 miles.
The next day was drizzly so she had to put on her waterproofs (luckily I'm born with a good coat).

I found this lovely little pool by a bridge.

When she left Llaneilian she'd planned to meet him back in Amlwch for a coffee then continue to Bull Bay but the cafe was closed.  Change of plan.

We skirted the harbour and headed to Amlwch town car park then drove home.

Wet and windy walk to Abersoch

We left Hell's Mouth and looked back at the waves crashing on the beach.  It wasn't promising. As we walked over the top of the headland we got close to the edge.  It was steep.  'I don't think I want to go any further.'  She didn't listen.  We headed on in the wind and the rain.  Sometimes we nearly got blown over.   See that headland?  That's where we were heading. Oh no!  That's miles away. 'Please can we go back,' I woofed as the wind blew me against the fence. She didn't listen.   Then we reached this field. I couldn't see 'breeding bulls' anywhere so we continued.  Notice I'm the one in front. Eventually we reached the top and started walking in the direction of Abersoch.  We never actually got there.   Ian was waiting in the first carpark by the sea.   I enjoyed having a rub down and a drink.  She had to wait to get back to get out of her wet things.

Prestatyn to Llanddulas

'Come on,' I barked.  'Let's go before the gulls wake up.'   We were on a walk along the promenade from Prestatyn to Llanddulas, 12 miles away. The sea was still a bit choppy after the storms on Monday and the wind was breezy but there was a blue sky.  I met another beagle (off the lead!!!) but it was old.  There were lots of other people with dogs or children or on bikes.  He was on his bike and met us half way at the Bike Cafe by the Foryd Bridge in Rhyl.  Had a long drink and got some biscuits. He stayed with us for a while as we passed lots of work on flood defences along the seafront passing the funfair on the way to Pensarn Beach.   There we stopped for a rest and listened to the bingo caller in the amusement arcade.  The joys of a seaside holiday!   He cycled back to the car and we followed.  She had to be pulled most of the way.

Life's a Bitch by Stitch

Me! One of my favourite poses - note the lead. I'm rarely off it when I'm out (unless it's in a 'beagle proof' fenced field). Note to other beagles: keep checking the boundary fence - there's usually a small gap somewhere under which you can escape to freedom. Bit of background on me: Born: April 13th 2019 and went to live in a place called Cheriton on the south east coast with a family that included a teenager (who named me), a toddler (who taught me how to misbehave) and a cat called Lola (who really annoyed me). Don't I look cute? Can you see what's on the collar? An anti bark device. I managed the destroy that one but I've got a new one now. They save it for when I'm really noisy. Note to other beagles: barking really winds them up. I now save it for motorbikes and cycles (anything with one eye), tractors and alsations (I've hated them ever since one savaged me - it's dead now but I'm on a mission to scare any big dog that c...
